NIM International Patent Office is a patent office located in Ota- Ku, Tokyo, Japan with over 50 years of history. Our office is conveniently located between HANEDA(International Airport) and SHINAGAWA(Shinkansen-railway Station), making it easy for visits from overseas.
As an intellectul property partner for ventures and small and medium-sized enterprises, we provide flexible and persistent support to meet our clients' needs. We also support many foreign companies in obtaining patents and other rights in Japan with pleasure.
Our Office History…
April in 1967~ Mr.NAKAHATA established Nakahata International Patent Office.
April in 1977~ Mr.ICHIHASHI established Ichihashi International Patent Office.
April in 2009~ Mr.MITA combined two offices and named it NIM International Patent Office by picking each head letter up from three head officers.

Service area
We will support our clients in all aspects of intellectual property rights, including patents, utility models, designs and trademarks, filed both domestically and abroad as well as from abroad, and the Unfair Competition Prevention Act. We also provide the clients with follow-up support after rights have been granted.
Regardless of whether you request us to actually handle prosecutions of the applications, we provide free consultation and advice regarding intellectual property rights in general, please feel free to contact us.

Applications from abroad
Industrial property rights regarding patents, utility models, designs, and trademarks are acquired, based on the territorial principle, and you must apply and acquire rights in each country. Therefore, industrial property rights such as patents used or implemented in exports to Japan or production in Japan must be acquired by filing an application in Japan. We actively support the acquisition of patents and other rights from overseas, so please feel free to ask us any questions or costs you may have or cover regarding applications.
